The modern sofa has a link with the past that most of us are not familiar with. From the ancient Greeks and Romans, through the Victoria Age today, the sofa bed has endured humble. Most of us are familiar with the modern sofa bed, as a great way to accommodate overnight guests.

The medical professional in general, has a history of adaptation of the concept of a sofa bed in a comfortable place for patients to recover. Early versions are often referred to as cure chairs. The president of cure was an alternative to traditional flat bed. Confining a patient with lung disease such as tuberculosis to a flat bed was considered as potentially harmful to their recovery.

A long room with an adjustable back could provide the patient the opportunity to sit or rest. Hospital beds heavy iron are highly portable and President of healing was a convenient alternative. President cure patients allowed access to sunlight and fresh air outside the confines of a room for tuberculosis.

Sunbeds have a history of portability for other purposes too utilitarian. In the days of Napoleon Wars, officials could well have had chairs that can easily become a cradle for sleeping. Think of modern chaise longue and you can imagine the usefulness of a place to sit, room be and even a place to sleep.

Sofas from the colonial era appears a backless design that was somewhat narrow in depth yet broad enough for use as a bed. Ornate Sofas can be found that four designs have since covered with cloth upholstery and exuberant decoration.
